Dundrum Road

 

This new build office stands on a prominent road on the southern suburbs of Dublin.  The clients, Eco-Advertising were looking for their own offices at first floor with a large workshop area at ground floor for the maintenance and display of their zero-emission eco vehicles.  The site strategy capitalises on the existing adjacent open space, formerly a garage forecourt, and reappropriates that space for external display.

 

Internally, simple exposed construction lends the rooms a particular quality - a cost effective and simple means of giving personality to the spaces.  The upper floors exploit their elevated position above nearby single storey structures to overlook adjacent parkland space through generously sized openings.  The green roof attenuates rainwater run-off and material selection is derived from sustainable sources.
